I'm Dreaming Of A Bright Christmas!

Well, it's time for me to post another new mix. Again, this was also done as a demo for a club, this time in Melbourne. I apologise to all you in the UK cos the vibe of the mix really reflects the weather out here, nice and summery! Lets hope it at least makes you feel a little less cold than you probably are. I guess this is a little more cheesy than what a lot of you would expect from me but as I always say, its all about "just good music!". Lots of vocals, oodles of funk and made for the dancefloor. I hope you enjoy it as much as the Aussies have when I've played it to them! Merry Christmas all, love from me :) X

Now then listeners, here's something I haven't done in a while. This mix is pretty full on and a return to heavy club form for those of you who have been missing a bit of that in your lives. I did this mix as a demo for a festival in Melbourne but it looks like I didn't get it done in time but at least you lot get to enjoy it, well those of you who are into this sort of thing anyway! It's tough mix of heavy breakbeat, tech house, a little techno and some other stuff that would fit around those sorts of sounds. For anyone who does enjoy it, I would be keen to know what you think. Enjoy X
A farewell gift inspired by Shambala

Some of you may well know that I am skipping the country for the best part of a year which means there's gonna be a lot of parties with a rather obvious blank spot on the dancefloor/behind the decks! As a result of this I thought I'd do one last mix from these shores to give you something to groove to in my absence although I'm hoping to post mixes as I go providing I get the time. I've actually been meaning to do this mix for a while but with all my preparations and my whirlwind lifestyle its been a long time coming. It's in honour of my gig at Shambala this year which is personally my favourite festival of them all and those I know who went say the same so check it out when you next get the chance. The mix reflects my set from the night and once again hosts a few exclusive re-edits. It's funky, tough, vocal, driving, rough around the edges and...I love it! It's more of a collection of tunes thats really been rocking my headphones and the dancefloors over the last couple of months so I just wanted to share them with you too. Thanks for listening ;)

This is my DJ set from Secret Garden Party at the weekend. Well, once again, it's a remake cos my recording somehow messed up. I really should get to grips a bit more with this new equipment I'm taking on the road! It's an electric-funk-tastic mix spanning many decades and the majority of the tunes are my own re-edits. It truely was a unique set that worked just as well as I'd hoped it would. Despite the conditions I was smiling throughout and thats cos you were too! Those of you who were there will remember the shakey start so at least I could rectify that this time around. The conditions were less than ideal, I couldn't see any of the displays and I was using kit I hadn't used before! Got there in the end though, I do like to throw myself in at the deep end! ;) The hardest thing for me was the intense heat as the sun shone straight on me the whole time, it wasn't helped by the extremely hot cat outfit I decided to wear either! Credit to everyone who danced throughout cos they must have lost a good half stone in those conditions, now thats dedication! Hope you enjoy this one and may I recommend you go and dance in the sun while you give it a listen, ideally beside a lake for best effect! X
The Electric Funk Session

This is quite an old mix but it's one I still like to listen to quite often. Been meaning to post it for a while but it is now officially out there for your pleasure! It does exactly what it sets out to do which is give a little insight into what it might sound like if a robot band got together for a good old jam session. Electric funk all the way! If you know any robot B-Boys, get them to snap to this :)
Glastonbury Revisited

Here is the remake of my set at Glastonbury, it's a remake because I forgot to record it at the time! Silly me, caught up in the excitement ;) Those of you who were there will remember me really messing up the first mix. At the time I thought it was cos of the very different mixing style I had to adapt to (no monitor speakers cos it was the Silent World stage!) but it turns out it was because the said tune was live and so is not set to an exact BPM anyway! I don't make things easy for myself, do I? Anyway, that has been corrected now and there are a couple of additional tunes at the end to fill up a cd's worth of time should you want to burn it. It's quite a vocally mix with lots of flavours thrown in. I figured I'd be playing to a very varied crowd so my aim was to please as many people as possible, judging by the crowd reaction and the massive cheer at the end I think I was successful ;) Thank you to all who came down to see me play and all those who sent me messages of support, it really meant a lot. Lets hope I get the opportunity to do it again in the future! X

This is a remix I've just put together from an acapella a friend of mine had recorded (http://www.myspace.com/maryclarevocals gorgeous voice, gorgeous person, good all rounder, check out her velvety tones ;)). It's still likely to change but I had to get something together quick for my uni coursework so thought I'd get it on here too for some constructive criticism. Let me know what you think please!

Here it is, the long awaited follow up to Discograffiti (found further down the page). This finally came about in honour of the 'Nativity Hoedown' a night some friends of mine organised which I DJ'ed at before Christmas. It turned out to be one of the best nights out I've had in many, many moons! For those of you who were there, I've included some of my (and hopefully yours!) favourite musical moments from the night, as well as some little gems that I just couldn't resist! ;) (For those of you who weren't, you really missed out! Look out for the next one) Okay y'all, go bust out on some serious funk! Enjoy the moooooosic...

This is basically a mix that I've been wanting to put together for a while but never made the time until now, not so much the tunes on it but more the pace and vibe. It's also a little taster of the kind of party I'm hoping to have for my Birthday! Hence the title ;) Enjoy! P.S. Don't drink and fry. Apparently.

Here is a mix I did recently that focuses around the deeper side of my house based collection. It still has a variety of moments including funk, tech, jackin and even some 80's style electro funk for good measure! It's still pure get down music but with some beautiful soundscape's that glide throughout. As always I hope you enjoy this mix and if you do be sure to tell your friends! Marshall

This mix just had to be done after my weekend at Bloom festival, quite possibly the most fun I've had all year and I'd like to say a big thanks to all involved. Inspired by a mutual love for funk, disco, house and all things ass shaking I spent so much time dancing while I was making it I nearly forgot to mix half the time! Anyway, I'll let you get on with enjoying the music now so in the words of my good self; "Come get your groovy groovy!" X

I'd like to think this mix does exactly what it says on the tin. A nice mix of newer sounds in an old school vibe. Perfect for those summer days, this mix is ideal whether you wanna sit back and relax or get up and shake it. I'd overlooked this for a while till I put it on whilst round a mates and realised what made me do it in the first place! Hope you all enjoy this collection of fine, fine sounds. Come get your groovy groovy!!!
A New Found Funk

This is one of my more recent mixes, once again covering a few different sounds that my music collection has to offer. This is more of a jackin/funky mix of house styles, good for getting you inthe mood for going out or to stick on at a partyif your foolish enough to have not asked me to play in the first place! lol I aim to start getting newer mixes done more regularly soon but I've been so busy I figured it best to get you all up to date with the best of my previous mixes first. Me And My Funks

I did this mix for a very good night oop norf called 'Riff Raff' based in Leeds. Brilliant crowd who are just up for a good, fun night out and an ace group of people who make the night happen! If your reading Emma, many thanks and I owe you a mix, it'll be on here soon! This a pretty funk based mix of various house sounds so should get its fair share of asses shaking! One thing about this mix is that a lot of the tunes on there have a sound that you don't hear as much in clubs recently, such a shame cos it has so much more life in it than a lot of the electro based stuff that most people are playing these days. That's not a dig, I'm just saying, many sounds come and go but a good tune is timeless! You know what to do by now... Enjoy

Thought I'd give you all another breakbeat mix I did a little while back. This is one of my favourite mixes and is perfect for sticking on during a session down the gym (maybe that's why I made it, has it been that long since I went!?!). Used quite a few FX in this one to bridge things together and I couldn't help putting in a few 'big' tunes. Hope you enjoy! Right click "Download" and choose "Save target As..."

I did this mix in homage to Kissy Sell Out, the best producer around currently as far as I'm concerned. This guy has literally changed the way I think about music (seriously, he's that good!) so I thought I'd put together a mix of all my favourite KSO productions I have so far. I hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as I did mixing it! Right click on 'Download' and choose 'Save Target As...'

I made this mix because I wanted something I could just put on, turn out the lights and lose myself in, I suggest you do the same! A nice mix of some very deep and atmospheric music that I find is also very good for sending me off to sleep! Turn on, turn off and unwind... Right click on 'Download' then choose 'Save Target As...'

Figured that seeing as there's so much club based stuff on this page, I'd better post a bit of good old fashioned funk! I made this a while back and it contains a few of my favourite funk and disco tunes I had to hand at the time and has always been a particular favourite with the laydeez! It was pretty much all mixed off vinyl except for one track (Mary Clark's 'Take Me I'm Yours') because its so bloody rare I wouldn't be able to find it let alone afford it! Get down with your bad selves and enjoy Right click on 'Download' then choose 'Save Target As...'
Secret Garage Party

This is a mix I did for Secret Garden Party festival in 2005. Its got a similar sort of feel to the 'Human After All' mix and covers a varity of sounds which is good representation of the kind of set you'd hear me play out, never been one to stick to just a few genres... This mix is leaning more towards the tech/electro side of things but still with plenty of funk! Right click on 'Download' then choose 'Save Target As...'
Surroundz Soundz - The Breaks

This is a mix I did for a night in Leeds called Surroundz, check it out if your in the area. Its a breakbeat mix with a lot of energy from the offset, plenty of robotic voices (I'm such a sucker for them!) and a few effects were used as well. Quite tuff going for those of you who are into your funkier stuff but give it a listen and see what you think. Right click on 'Download' then choose 'Save Target As...'

This is a mix I did for a festival last year, Secret Garden Party in fact, highly recommended for anyone able to make it this year. This is meant as a carry on from the 'Things That Go Bump...' mix that I previously posted and so follows a similar vibe but toughens things up a bit. I also did a mix for the same festival a year before which is posted on here as 'Secret Garage Party' For now, enjoy! Right click on 'Download' then choose 'Save Target As...'
